Mohamed to Perform with Arun Ghosh & Band in Bremen, Germany @ Jazzahead 2009

Mohamed will be supporting Arun Ghosh and his band at the 2009 Jazzahead Conference in Bremen Germany taking place from the 23rd to 26th April 2009. Arun Ghosh is a British-Asian clarinettist, composer and music educator. He has been selected for this year's edition of the Jerwood/PRS Foundation 'Take Five' initiative for emerging jazz musicians produced by Serious.

Whether John Scofield, Julia Hülsmann Trio feat. Roger Cicero, Maceo Parker, Wallace Roney, Maria João, Lisa Bassenge, NDR Bigband, motif, Thärichens Tentett, Marilyn Mazur, Marc Ducret Trio, Bugge Wesseltoft, Rigmor Gustafsson or Joe Zawinul – numerous national and international stars have already presented their talent on the jazzahead! stages in the past! And in 2009 you can again expect to hear a lot of aspiring and big stars of jazz, including Mohamed & Arun!

Mohamed’s Degree Students to Perform 5th May 2009

Mohamed’s 1st & 3rd year music degree students at the University of Huddersfield will be presenting their end of year performance on Tuesday 5th May 2009. The performance will take place at St Paul’s Hall, University of Huddersfield, Queensgate, HD1 2RD.

The group, known as the Brahma Nada Ensemble, will be presenting a mix of Indian Classical and fusion music on both Indian & Western instruments. Mohamed will be supporting them on tabla.

Mohamed has been teaching / leading the South Asian Music Directed Ensemble at the University for the past three years. This has included teaching sitar, tabla, harmonium and Indian music on Western instruments. The results have been fantastic, with a number of graduates going on to incorporate Indian Music into their career paths.

The show begins at 7:30pm. Entry is free and all are welcome to attend what promises to be an enjoyable evening!

Indus to Perform in Sheffield on 15th November 2008

Mohamed’s fusion band, Indus, will be performing at Sheffield’s acclaimed live music venue MUSIC IN THE ROUND on Saturday 15th November 2008. Indus Plans National Tour for 2009

Mohamed’s band Indus, is planning a national tour of the United Kingdom to commence in July 2009 and continue until December 2009. The band plan on presenting 15 to 20 performances nationally alongside an education programme.

According to Shahaa Kakar, the Project Director, “Indus’s national tour is a great opportunity for venues & promoters to present their audiences with high quality, mesmerising new music.”
